Back
in 1895 Sig. Guidotti cleverly transformed the stables of Villa
Bottini into a grocery or 'drogheria', and since then numerous
people and illustrious personages from Lucca, such as Maestro
Puccini and Luporini, have found refreshment at the shop.
Today, more than a hundred years later, the
shop still has its original interior and conveys the spirit of
those times and traditional aromas and flavours.
Three years ago a pizzeria and wood-burning oven was added, as
well as a kitchen where typical dishes from the area are prepared
along with tastings of local cured meats and cheeses.
